A painter and decorator who survived a 25ft fall from a seawall plans to seek compensation.

Julia Corrigan, 53, was convinced Colin, 57, was dead after he toppled off a path near Coopers Beach caravan site, in Mersea.

Coastguards and paramedics launched a three-and-a-half hour rescue mission to recover the Silver End man from the jagged rocks below.

He suffered a broken leg, five broken ribs, a punctured lung and head injuries.

Mr Corrigan, of School Road, is still unable to work and is in contact with a lawyer.

He is seeking compensation for the accident, which has left his arm permanently numb.
