Mersea Island: Lions make it a happier Christmas for older residents

MERSEA Island’s older residents will be having a happier festive season, thanks to the local Lions group.
Members held a collection, which raised £661.20 for goodies to be delivered to the island’s elderly and infirm.
Lions’ president Roy Chamberlain said: “Great thanks go to all members of the public who donated money to this very special cause, which gives some comfort to those having a Christmas Day meal alone.”
