A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital aftwer her motorcylc ecrashed on the A12 - shutting the road for several hours. the 51-year-old woman from Colchester was flown by RAF Sea King helicopter to hospital suffering from head injuries.

Inspirational West Bergholt teenager Harry Bowen, who suffered serious injuries when a tree branch fell on him, has won a national award. Harry's courage was recognised by the Statgecoach Charitable Trust's InterAct Award.

A public outcry has forced Colchester Council to scrap plans to build new beach huts in West Mersea.

The council had hoped to raise £300,000 by putting 30 new huts on Victoria Esplanade car park but has now withdrawn the plan.

A woman was left critically ill in hospital after a concrete block was thrown on to her car from a bridge on the A12.
