Fire crews rescue man stranded on The Strood

A MAN who tried to beat the rising tide had to climb onto his car roof after his car flooded.
The motorist was caught on The Strood, Mersea, just after 11am today.
Three fire crews, an ambulance, and the fire service water rescue team were called and waited for the water level to drop before beginning the rescue.
