Plea to find brutal attacker of Colchester boy, 14
1:00pm Friday 28th October 2011
A MUM urged witnesses to come forward after her teenage son was attacked with a lump of wood.
Jordan Lawson came home bloodied and bruised after spending the evening with a friend.
The 14-year-old was attacked in Mersea Road, Colchester.
Mother-of-five Nicola Lawson said: “He said he had been jumped from behind and someone had hit him in the face and the back.
“Then the attacker smashed Jordan’s arm with a lump of wood. There was blood all over his school shirt, blood everywhere. His arm swelled up really big.”
Ms Lawson, 30, of Barn Hall Avenue, Colchester, said the incident had shaken her son, a pupil at Alderman Blaxill School.
She said: “He has gone quiet and doesn’t want to go out. He is only a child. Imagine how you would feel if it happened to your child?
“I am so angry. Nothing like this has happened to him before.
“We want to find out who did this to stop it happening to anyone else, because there is someone out there who would do this to a child.”
Jordan’s gran, Sue Seaward, added: “He was just walking home. You don’t expect him to get a beating. It is disgusting.”
Police are treating the attack as grievous bodily harm.
Anyone with information about the attack, on Friday, October 14 at about 9.30pm, is urged to call Colchester CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
