Young lovers' fire extinguished

A COURTING couple were lectured after their romantic bonfire was mistaken for a boat blaze.
West Mersea Costguards were called after a passer-by spotted flames at Coast Road at 8.40pm on Friday.
Police and firefighters attended by found a couple on the beach with a self made fire.
Fire crews extinguished the bonfire and gave the young lovers some safety advice.
