River Colne: Jet Skier "under the influence of alcohol"
2:36pm Monday 3rd October 2011
A MAN thought to be under the influence of alcohol fell off his jet ski, Thames Coastguard said.
The Brightlingsea Harbour Master called upon the help of the coastguard on Sunday afternoon because the man was not co-operating with their attempts to rescue him.
West Mersea’s lifeboat was tasked to the scene at the entrance to the River Colne but before they arrived the man had made it to the shore at Point Clear.
The lifeboat crew assessed him but he did not require any medical treatment.
His jet ski was also towed back to Point Clear.
