Sunday, October 2 - Lions Club of Kingville will conduct a Thanksgiving Bingo at the Lions Community Hall, 23 Mill Street West, Kingsville. Proceeds of the bingo will benefit the Kingsville Food Bank, Leamington Hospital Foundation and the Lions Foundation of Canada for dog guides for the blind. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. The bingo starts at 2 p.m. Prizes include thanksgiving food certificates and door prizes. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Kingsville Food Bank.

The Diabetes Programme Windsor-Essex offers a free 4 part series of diabetes self-management classes. These are called "Meals, Med and Monitoring". They are for adults with or at risk for Type 2 diabetes. All classes are taught by a registered nurse and a registered dietitian. Classes are offered in Leamington and Kingsville. Big Brothers & Big Sisters - Volunteers are urgently needed in the Leamington-Kingsville area. Several Little Sisters and Brothers are on the waiting list hoping to be matched with a Big who will spend 2-5 hours with them each week. A Big has a one to one relationship with a Little, having fun, doing things you enjoy and sharing those with a young person. The children are between 6 and 16 years of age. The requirement for becoming a Big is to be 19 years of age or older, to commit a year to this volunteer experience and see the Little weekly.
