Colchester: Two doctors' practices to move to new centre
7:10am Friday 19th August 2011
TWO doctors’ practices are set to move to a new surgery.
The Mersea Road and Portland Road practices plan to leave their current premises and take over the former Army medical centre in Ypres Road, Colchester.
The centre was given to Colchester Council as part of the planning agreement for the redevelopment of Colchester Garrison.
It is handing it over to NHS North East Essex. The Mersea Road practice - which has surgeries in Mersea Road and Creffield Road - and the Portland Road practice are to take it over.
Together, the two practices have more than 13,000 patients.
