Braintree: Silver End Dad in horror fall

A woman feared her husband dead as he lay stranded on rocks after plunging twenty feet from a sea wall.
Colin Corrigan, from Silver End, was walking home from a wedding with his family when he fell from a narrow sea path at Copper’s Beach, Mersea Island.
He was stranded on rocks for three and a half hours as his family and paramedics battled to reach him.
Mr Corrigan, 57, was eventually rescued by air ambulance and was taken to Colchester General Hospital.
He suffered a broken leg, five broken ribs, head injuries and hypothermia.
His wife, Julia Corrigan said the moment he fell was terrifying.
