The romantic lure of Island life is alive and well just off the coast of Essex. Mersea Island, nestled between the river Blackwater and Colne estuaries is approximately nine miles south-east of Colchester, and is without doubt one of the county's best kept secrets.

The island is approximately five miles by two miles, and has a perimeter of twelve miles encompassing the town of West Mersea and the village of East Mersea. The name is a derivation of the Anglo Saxon word ‘Meresig’, which dates from the early 10th Century and means 'island of the pool'.

The Park is in the most desirable end of West Mersea Island which itself is probably the most sought after village in Essex.

Firs Chase is Perfect for enthusiasts of all types of boats as West Mersea is a world famous yachting centre, or for those seeking a place to relax with panoramic views, quiet and secluded especially for bird watchers and Nature Lovers.

Open from the 15th March to 31st October.

New Caravans are For Sale which have Modern Bathroom Facilities, Central Heating, Mains Water and Electricity from £ 12,500 up to £ 35,000
Used caravans are also available.

There is no Clubhouse, but there are very good licensed restaurants & Pubs on the Coast Road which is a few minutes walk.

Unfortunately there are no caravans to hire & do not take Tourers or tents.
